Ilona Rista – A New Outlook on Wood Carving

Finnish wood and forests are very much to the fore in Ilona Rista’s art. She has made a name for herself by producing large-sized wooden reliefs capable of covering a whole wall, works that call for the use of IT techniques at the design stage and can then be implemented mechanically. She has produced these on an individual basis as decorative and acoustic elements for public spaces, but they also serve in effect as works of art that represent a comprehensive aesthetic approach and the fruits of collaboration between experts in numerous fields. Exhibition at Lusto, 28.4.2017–7.1.2018.
