Forest Culture Days, the major forest culture event in Finland, take place at Lusto over a weekend in mid June. It is a summer event for all forest enthusiasts – from forestry professionals and forest owners to everyone interested in the forest – that also the youngest members of the family will enjoy.
The Forest Culture Days are based on the rich Finnish forest culture and heritage, ranging from past uses of the forest to topical forest themes of today.
The three-day event is a perfect complement to the activities of the forest museum: skills and know-how cannot be successfully stored on museum shelves but are best preserved and passed on to future generations through hands-on learning from others.
The demonstrations of timber floating and forestry work, together with the displays of forest machines, depict forestry work in the past and at present. In addition, the event programme includes excursions, displays of machines, music and a market of forest-related products, as well as the fun for children.
See you in Forest Culture Days in summer 2013!
