The Finnish Forest History Society cooperates with Finnish and foreign history and heritage societies as well as with other organisations interested in forest history. Through its members the society has established good contacts with universities, research institutes and forestry organisations.
The society is an active member of the affiliation of the Nordic forest history societies and forest museums. The Nordic Forest History Conference was organised August 25-28th, 2009, in Helgeland, Norway; 8 participants from Finland. The next Nordic Forest History Conference will be organised in September 2010 in Southern Sweden.
The Forest History Society is a member of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies and the Finnish Forest Association.
The Forest History Society works in close cooperation with Lusto – the Finnish Forest Museum.
